The E-1002 Egg Flapper (フラッパー, Furappā^?) is a robot first used by the Eggman Empire in Sonic Heroes, and are part of Eggman's E-Series.

DescriptionEdit

AppearanceEdit

Their bodies look like Egg Pawns, but they have wings and turbines instead of arms and legs. They resemble airplanes and use jet engines to keep themselves afloat. After the Egg Pawns, these robots are the most recurring enemy in recent Sonic games.

Sonic HeroesEdit

In Sonic Heroes, Egg Flappers come in a variety of models, each with a different ability or weapon. The easiest way to destroy them is by using Thunder Shoot to knock them out of the sky, leaving them open to any attack. Although, if Thunder Shoot is leveled up to Level 3, then it may be enough to destroy a Flapper in one shot. There are many different kinds of Flappers that are equipped with different weapons and come in a variety of colors.

Sonic Rush and Sonic ColorsEdit

Flapper's also appear in Sonic Rush, which introduces a new type of Flapper that moves under water, they are enemies in Water Palace Night Carnival and Altitude Limit. They retained the same role in the DS version of Sonic Colors.

Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic GamesEdit

Egg Flappers appeared in Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games in both the Wii and DS versions.

Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic GamesEdit

In Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, they appear in the Dream Fencing event (which takes place in Ocean Palace) as randomly occurring obstacles.

Sonic GenerationsEdit

Egg Flappers return in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations using a giant version of their water variant in the Water Palace.

	Flapper	A generic Flapper that has no weapons or abilities, and is pretty much useless for anything other than recon. They are painted red.
	Cannon Flapper	A Flapper with a bazooka identical to the ones used by Egg pawns. They are painted green.
	Gun Flapper	A Flapper with a machine gun. They are painted light blue.
	Bomb Flapper	A Flapper that flies about, periodically dropping bombs. They are painted magenta.
	Laser Flapper	A Flapper that shoots an electrical-like laser straight down. They are painted neon green.
	Needle Flapper	A Flapper that has spikes that pop out at regular intervals, making them harder to attack. They can still be damaged by a Thunder Shoot with the spikes deployed, but at the expense of the teammate being used in the attack. They are painted dark violet.
	Search Flapper	A Flapper that has no weapons, but instead has a searchlight. If a character is caught in the light, the Flapper will make several Egg Pawns appear to fight them off. They are painted yellow.
	Armor-plated Flapper	Silver armor-plated Flappers that can only be destroyed by Power character (Though they can be destroyed by the Fly character if Thunder Shoot is used enough). They can be equipped with any weapon as their colored counterparts or no weapon at all.
