For the version of this character after the Super Genesis Wave, see Egg Mite.

The Egg Mite is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a crab-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.

Two model types were made of the Egg Mites; the first models handle repairs on the interior of the Death Egg Mark 2, while the second models were assault versions used to overwhelm targets.[2]

Appearance[]

Based off of the small arthropods, Egg Mites have a color scheme of red, peach, and gray, the latter taking up most of the body. In terms of design, an Egg Mite has a circular, disc-shaped central body, and walks about on eight claw-like appendages that are able to carry large objects of significantly greater weight with relative ease.

History[]

The Egg Mites were not seen until 3237, after Dr. Eggman re-emerged from hiding with the Death Egg Mark 2, where they were responsible for general maintenance of the airship.[3] After the destruction of Silver Sonic v3.0, Egg Mites were also seen carrying its remains to a waste disposal area to be dumped.[4] Following the overall failure of Operation: Clean Sweep, the Death Egg suffered heavy damage in certain areas along with extensive wiring problems, jobs for which the Egg Mites were put to their full use in completing.[5]

Powers and abilities[]

Egg Mites' limbs can close into an egg-shape for easy storage or deployment.[2] Egg Mites do not feature any known weapons besides a single laser-cutting torch used in welding tasks.[3]
