Dark Mobius - Sonic's Farewell[1] is a short story set in the pre-Super Genesis Wave Archie Sonic the Hedgehog canon, which was written by Ian Flynn and published on the Archie Sonic blog on May 20, 2011.
The story is presented as a letter sent from Sonic the Hedgehog to Sally Acorn in the Dark Mobius timeline, and serves as both a prequel to the Sonic Universe "Silver Saga" arc which ran from Sonic Universe #25 to #28, and as a companion to the other Dark Mobius blog stories.

- You know I'm not the letter-writing type, but I've gotta run and I want to at least let you know what's going on.
- I'm using the Chaos Emeralds.
- "It's too dangerous," "we can't fight fire with fire here," yadda yadda yadda.
- You've made your case. And while you're out looking for magic swords and making alliances and whatever, Knuckles is stomping us into the dirt.
- That ain't gonna cut it.
- I know Mogul is about as trustworthy as he is skinny, but I think he wants to stop Knux as much as the rest of us.
- Amy and Tails already have leads on a couple of emeralds, and with Mogul's help, I think we can get all seven together in a couple of weeks.
- Then I'll go Super Sonic and knock some sense into the ol' knucklehead. It's fast, it's simple, and it's me saving the world. Again. It's the formula that never fails.
- You can tell me how dangerous and risky it all was during the victory parade!
