Ball Hog is a character that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He was a pig-based Badnik and a member of Dr. Robotnik's "Or Else" Protection Service until his untimely end at Sonic the Hedgehog's hands.
Appearance[]
Ball Hog is a mechanical humanoid, gray-colored pig about half a head taller than Sonic the Hedgehog. He has black eyes with almost slit-like pupils, two pointy ears, a short tail, and a peculiar mouth resembling an orange beak. He also has bolts around his eyes. For attire, he wears a light green suit, a white shirt with a red tie, and black and white shoes.
History[]
Stationed in Mobius Corners as a part of Dr. Robotnik's "Or Else" Protection Service, Ball Hog and his partner Roller would bully Mobians into paying them to not destroy their business, turning the town into a dangerous place. One day, the duo came to Bert's Diner and threatened Bert Whoo to pay them. Sonic the Hedgehog, who was at the diner, retaliated by making fools of them, provoking Ball Hog to use his bombs. However, the Badniks were distracted by Sonic and Bert, and got blown up by Ball Hog's own bomb.[1]
Legacy[]
After the threat of Robotnik had passed, Tails used Ball Hog's, along with Roller's, remains to build a waiter for Bert's Diner, allowing the waitress Roxy to work as Bert's partner.[1]
Personality[]
Ball Hog was nasty, rotten and smart-mouthed, taking open delight in strong-arming the innocent, though he could be rather short-tempered. Like many of Robotnik's other Badniks, he was also rather gullible, easily falling for Sonic's disguises.[1] Like a real pig, he would sometimes grunt during a sentence.
Powers and abilities[]
Ball Hog was able to pull out lit bombs from his torso and use them as ammunition against enemies. He was also equipped with a robot-com-phone for communicating with Dr. Ivo Robotnik.[1]
Trivia[]
- Ball Hog is modeled after the Badnik with the same name from the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
