The Ball Hog is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a pig-based Badnik variant created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. They are among the first generation of Badniks Robotnik produced and has posed a threat to Mobius since the doctor's early days.
History[]
A part of the original incarnation of Dr. Robotnik's Badnik army, the Ball Hogs once challenged Sonic the Hedgehog as they tried safeguarding Robotnik's Neutrino Accelerator, and another time they joined the invasion of the Hidden Zone. Each time though, they were destroyed by Sonic.[1][2]
Long after the Ball Hogs were considered outdated, D.R.A.T. acquired the plans to build their own without the need for organic batteries, but Sonic and Tails handled them easily after they were unleashed.[3] A multitude of Ball Hogs later joined hordes of Badniks in bringing down the Freedom Fighter under Agent X's directions.[4]
Powers and abilities[]
The Ball Hogs are capable of flight, though the methods of which it is achieved through have varied; early models used rockets and the latters used wings.
