The Bugernaut is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a mass-produced, horsefly-based Badnik model created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
Appearance[]
Based on the horsefly, Bugernauts have a small blue body with a pair of large superposition eyes, four big wings and a cylinder-shaped abdomen on their back.
History[]
While patrolling the Metropolis Zone, Bugernauts would spot some of the Freedom Fighters and help apprehend them, unaware that they were being played by the Freedom Fighters for a secret plan to infiltrate Robotnik's info center.[1]
On the day Robotnik's tyranny over Mobius ended, Bugernauts and hundreds of others Badniks were called in by Grimer to stop the rebels in the Metropolis Zone until a global electromagnetic created by Super Sonic destroyed them.[2][3]
The Bugernauts were not seen again until they joined a horde of Badniks for a surprise attack on the Freedom Fighters, which was later revealed to have been set up by Agent X.[4]
Trivia[]
- The Bugernauts are based on the enemy that debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
