Manic the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is Manic the Hedgehog's counterpart from an alternate dimension and one of the Royal 'Corrupt' Hedgehogs.

Appearance[]

Manic is essentially a doppelganger of his Mobius counterpart. As such, he is identical to his in both anatomy and attire.

History[]

TV series[]

Past[]

At some point in the recent past, Manic took away the money of the citizens of Mobotropolis by taxing them massively.[1]

Season one[]

Receiving notice of a mob of tax rioters in sector nine from a Swatbot, Manic ordered for the taxes there to be doubled. Manic later took the last Mobium of a starving citizen and ordered him to be put in chains. Manic soon began counting his Mobium, but was interrupted by his alternate counterpart, who sucked up all his money with a giant vacuum. Manic attempted to summon his Swatbot guards, but as they had all been fired by his counterpart, none came. His counterpart then sucked him up with the vacuum, leaving him trapped in the nozzle. Him and his siblings were then shown what affects their tyrannical rule had on the citizens of Mobotropolis by their counterparts. Following his sister's example, Manic had a change of heart and gave several pieces of his treasure to a beggar girl on the street. Him and his siblings were then brought to a forest, where they held a speech, promising to change their cruel ways and lead the kingdom into a new era of peace.[1]

Personality[]

Manic has a same personality as his Mobius counterpart, albeit darker and more self-involved. He was even more greedy than his Mobius counterpart and enjoyed collecting vast sums of wealth, but unlike his counterpart he taxes rather than stealing and has nothing to prevent him from doing this as his siblings do not try to stop him.[1]

After having seen how the people suffered under his and his siblings' corrupt rule, Manic had a change of heart. Developing sympathy for his people, Manic resolved to become a kinder and more generous ruler over his people.[1]
