The Hershey's sampler is a compilation of Sega PC game demos that was offered in various Hershey product promotions, published by Logistix Marketing Services.[2] The offer ran from August 1 though December 31, 1997[1] and contained four demos of software previously published by Sega Entertainment.
The Hershey’s sampler was offered with Hershey products such as six packs of Milk Chocolate bars, Almond bars, Reese's, Nutrageous, KitKat, and Peppermint Patties. The offer required two tear-away coupon codes found on the packaging, along with having to pay a fee of either $2.99 or $4.99 USD, depending on the source.
The sampler includes an offer for special discounted prices on six Sega published PC games, including: Sonic CD for $19.99 USD, Virtua Squad for $19.99 USD, Sega Rally Championship for $34.99 USD, Sonic & Knuckles Collection for $24.99 USD, Garfield: Caught in the Act (simply titled Garfield) for $19.99 USD, and Sonic's Schoolhouse for $19.99 USD as well.[3] The games would be ordered from a form included with the sampler, with the offer having expired on June 30, 1998.[2]

Sonic & Knuckles Collection[]
This demo of the Sonic & Knuckles Collection features only Angel Island Zone from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The player can choose to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or as Sonic with Tails.
Garfield[]
While this demo is titled simply Garfield,[4] it is actually a trial version of Garfield: Caught in the Act, though it features different levels than the full release. The gameplay involves Garfield waking up in a strange, dream-like world, and the player proceeds to guide him through stages while collecting items, activating mechanisms, and destroying enemies. The demo also includes the Whack-a-mole-type bonus game.
Sonic CD[]
This is a demo of the Windows 95 port of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, with it only containing the first Round of the game, Palmtree Panic.
Sonic's Schoolhouse[]
The Sonic's Schoolhouse install prompt.
While this demo of Sonic's Schoolhouse features the full game in promotional material, there are several unlockable modes were not available in the demo.
