The Caterkiller is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a caterpillar-based Badnik variant created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. They were among the first generation of Badniks produced by Robotnik and have remain active units in the doctor's army since his early days.

History[]

In the Caterkillers' early days, they and an army of Badniks tried to defend Dr. Robotnik's Neutrino Accelerator from Sonic the Hedgehog, but got torn apart by the hedgehog.[1]

A Caterkiller and other Badniks later cornered Tufftee, who had gotten himself caught in the Marble Zone, where they tormented him before deciding to turn him into a Badnik with the Portable Badnik Processor. However, the Caterkiller and the Badniks were destroyed when Sonic spun to Tufftee's rescue.[2] Following a failed battle against Sonic, a damaged Caterkiller reported back to Robotnik, who then mobilized an army of Badniks (Caterkillers includes) to invade the Hidden Zone. At the site however, Sonic destroyed the Caterkillers and their army.[3] More Caterkillers were over time sent out on different missions, such as aiding in the Marxio Brothers' schemes which were foiled by Knuckles, and trying in vain defeat the Freedom Fighters who were bolstered by Shortfuse the Cybernik.[4][5][6]

On the day where Robotnik's tyranny ended, several Caterkillers and other Badniks were called into stopping the rebelling Mobians until a global electromagnetic created by Super Sonic destroyed them all.[7] Later, at an operating station on Flickies' Island, Robotnik started building improved and more dreadful-looking Caterkillers.[8] Three of these Caterkillers were sent tunneling under the sea to attack Skegpool from below, but during the attack, Tails happened to take them all down at once.[9] D.R.A.T. eventually acquired the plans to build the first models of Caterkillers for themselves without the need for organic batteries, but Sonic and Tails handled them easily after they were set loose.[10]

Personality[]

Early versions of Caterkillers were slow and stupid, but also very mean and quite dangerous in enclosed areas. As time went on, they have become more aggressive.

Powers and abilities[]

Despite having a strong bite, Caterkillers do not have many skills, but as time passed, later models have got faster and are now able to burrow through the ground.
