The Caterkiller is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. It is a mass-produced Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman in the "In Another Time, In Another Place" reality.[1]
Appearance[]
Caterkillers are modeled after real-life caterpillars, and sport bodies composed of many spherical segments. Each segment possesses an exposed gray underside with purple armor covering the top, and a yellow spike on both its left and right sides. The "tail" segment is mostly the same as the others, with the addition of a third backwards-facing spike, while the "head" segment possesses a pair of glowing white eyes, and a circular cyan glowing "mouth" which doubles as a laser cannon. Additionally, the spikes on the head segment are slightly smaller, and placed lower in comparison to the other segments.[1]

Olympic Trials[]
During Dr. Eggman's attempt to sabotage the Olympics, two Caterkillers were stationed under the ground of the stadium. Both would later burrow out of the ground to ambush Tails while he trained for the long-jump event. Caught unaware, Tails was hit by one of their teleportation beams, and transported to a Prison Egg. Noticing this, Sonic and Shadow attempted to destroy the two Caterkillers, only for Shadow to also get caught and transported by a teleportation beam. Sonic would avoid it, however, and go on to destroy one of the two Caterkillers, while the other remaining one burrowed back into the ground and fled.[1]
Personality[]
Caterkillers are entirely loyal to Dr. Eggman, and follow his orders without question.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
In addition to being able to burrow through soft terrain, Caterkillers can fire cyan beams from their mouths which teleport any individuals hit by them to a Prison Egg.[1]
