Eclipse the Darkling, Sonic Universe #70

The Sandopolis Zone is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a desert region located on Angel Island.

History[]

Sonic 3 & Knuckles[]

After Sonic and Tails made Dr. Eggman's Death Egg crash land on Angel Island for a second time, the heroes passed through Sandopolis Zone during their mission to destroy the space station for good. While on their quest, they faced a Guardian and entered a pyramid inhabited by hostile Hyudoros. At the deepest parts of this pyramid, they faced and defeated Eggman, and later made their way to Lava Reef Zone.[1][2] Knuckles later passed through Sandopolis Zone in pursuit of a fleeing Eggbot controlled by Dr. Julian Snively, Eggman's former assistant, after multiple encounters on the island, before heading to Lava Reef Zone.[1][3]

Total Eclipse[]

Eclipse encounters Guardian

Eclipse encounters Guardian, from Sonic Universe #70.

Eclipse the Darkling later passed through the Sandopolis Zone with the Dark Arms, who were carrying the Master Emerald, in an attempt to reach a shuttle in Launch Base Zone. Along the way, he encountered the Guardian as one of the traps that Rouge the Bat activated in an attempt to slow him down until Knuckles the Echidna and Shadow the Hedgehog could reach Eclipse.[3]
