At some point in the past, Dr. Eggman used the Egg Viper at the Final Egg in an attempt to defeat Sonic. In the end though, the hedgehog destroyed the Viper.[1][2]
Test Run![]
While Sonic, Tails, and Amy were inside his test chambers, Dr. Eggman deployed an orange version of the Egg Viper, remotely controlled by Eggman, to fight the trio. While Amy managed to deflect the thrown spiked wheel from the Egg Viper back at it with her hammer, Sonic and Tails destroyed it together. However, Eggman then sent three new, remotely controlled, Egg Vipers with elemental powers after them. While the red Egg Viper managed to set Amy on fire, her flames were quickly extinguished by the blue Egg Viper when it flooded the room with streams of water in an attempt to drown the heroes. While Tails managed to save his friends from the flood, the green Egg Viper intercepted them him with turbine-induced whirlwinds. With Sonic and his friends knocked down, the Egg Vipers gained a significant advantage over them.[3]
As the Egg Vipers continued their assault, the blue Egg Viper knocked Sonic down with a stream of water while the red Egg Viper surrounded Tails and Amy with its flaming body. However, Sonic tricked the blue Egg Viper to splash the red Egg Viper with water, extinguishing its flames. As the green Egg Viper then moved in, it would blow Sonic away when he came at it with a Spin Attack, only for Sonic to knock the blue Egg Viper into the group on the way down. The green Egg Viper proceeded to blow Sonic's gang into the floor, but then Tangle landed on top of it, thus interrupting its attack. The Egg Vipers were subsequently left on autopilot by Eggman while he dealt with Belle the Tinkerer, allowing Sonic and co. to subdue the Egg Vipers; the red Egg Viper had its tail torn off; the blue Egg Viper got tied by with its water hoses, and the green Egg Viper had one of its turbines torn off and cleaved it half. However, Eggman then resumed control over the Egg Vipers and had them charge towards the heroes, with them creating a massive explosion upon impact. Regardless, the heroes managed to evade them.[4]

Blue Egg Viper[]

The unnamed blue Egg Viper variant is a variant of the Egg Viper with elemental abilities associated with water. In terms of appearance, it is almost identical to the standard Egg Viper, except this one possesses a blue coat of armor and possesses water hose cannons instead of wheels on the side. When it comes to abilities, this Egg Viper variant can fly and manipulate its hose cannons like limps, from which it can fire large amounts of pressurized water in such quantity that it can flood a large room in a matter of moments. It can also be piloted remotely using VR controls.[3]
Green Egg Viper[]

The unnamed green Egg Viper variant is a variant of the Egg Viper with elemental abilities associated with wind. In terms of appearance, it is almost identical to the standard Egg Viper, except this one possesses a green coat of armor and possesses adjustable circular turbines instead of wheels on the side. When it comes to abilities, this Egg Viper variant can fly and use its turbines to create whirlwinds powerful enough to knock someone to the ground. It can also both be piloted remotely using VR controls or operate independently via autopilot.[3][4]
Orange Egg Viper[]

The unnamed orange Egg Viper variant is a variant of the Egg Viper with elemental abilities associated with electricity. In terms of appearance, it is almost identical to the standard Egg Viper, except this one possesses an orange coat of armor and extra green details. When it comes to abilities, this Egg Viper variant can fly and dethatch its wheels which it can throw like spinning discs at opponents. It can also create high-voltage charges that it can discharge as lightning bolts or as an electric aura that electrifies those that physically touches it. It can also both be piloted remotely using VR controls or operate independently via autopilot.[3][4]
Red Egg Viper[]

The unnamed red Egg Viper variant is a variant of the Egg Viper with elemental abilities associated with fire. In terms of appearance, it is virtually identical to the original Egg Viper mecha. When it comes to abilities, this Egg Viper variant can fly, fire a laser beam from its frontal cannon, and surround itself in a cloak of flames for both defensive and offensive purposes, thus allowing it to make destructive charges. The flames this Egg Viper produces are so intense in fact that they can set things ablaze without making physical contact with them. It can also both be piloted remotely using VR controls or operate independently via autopilot.[3][4]
