The Flasher is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a mass-produced, firefly-based Badnik model made by Dr. Robotnik.

Appearance[]

Flashers are small robots based off of fireflies, and as such, their build is divided into a head and a body. They possess antennae and an underbelly capable of producing bright lights.

History[]

Flashers were first seen within Mystic Cave Zone under the control of Captain Plunder. They were deployed to stop Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower, and while they did manage to harm them using their electric abilities upon cornering them in the tunnels, they ultimately did not stop them from saving Amy Rose.[1]

Upon the heroes' return to Mystic Cave Zone to find Stripes, three Flashers ambushed Sonic again. While avoiding the Flashers though, Sonic fell into a spike pit, but got rescued by Tails at the last second.[2] A Flasher, powered by an Emerald Hill mouse, was later sent with other Badniks to attack the inhabitants of Emerald Hill Zone by Dr. Robotnik, but got destroyed by Shortfuse the Cybernik upon its arrival.[3]

Powers and abilities[]

The Flashers are capable of flight and can produce very powerful electrical shocks which they use to attack opponents with. Their electricity is enough to knock opponents of Sonic's caliber out cold.[1] However, they can only generate electricity for a few seconds at a time.[2]
