Iblis is a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-off comic series published by Archie Comics. It is an energy spirit and the fiery power and destructive nature of Solaris.

History[]

Ibils was creating in an experiment with Solaris by the Duke of Soleanna and his researchers in an attempt to harness Solaris' time-warping powers. During the experiments, Solaris was split in half, giving birth to Iblis and Mephiles, who was Solaris' power and intelligence. After its birth and without any other option, Iblis was sealed within Princess Elise by the Duke of Soleanna using the power of a Chaos Emerald, dying in the process himself. Iblis would then remain sealed that way until Elise gave into despair.[1]

Years later, Mephiles, who had been trapped within the Scepter of Darkness by Shadow the Hedgehog, was released and plotted to reunite with Iblis. Following a two hundred yearlong plan, Iblis was released from Elise by Mephiles, and with the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Iblis and Mephiles rejoined, and Solaris was reborn. Before Solaris could destroy all of time, however, it was defeated by an alliance of villains and heroes. Iblis' existence was then finally erased when Sonic the Hedgehog and Elise traveled back in time to the days before Solaris was experimented upon and snuffed out the tiny flame, thus ending Solaris', and Iblis', existence.[1]

Despite this time paradox seems to have safely dealt with Iblis, it is suspected it could have slipped through a crack in time.[1]

Personality[]

As an embodiment of Solaris' destructive nature, Iblis was supposedly a destructive creature as well.[1]
