The Infrared Scope is an object that appears in the anime series Sonic X. It is a scouting device used by Sonic for his infiltration of Area 99.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Infrared Scope is a device worn on the right side of the head. It consists of a grey single-earpiece with a thin microphone and a red lens which fits over the right eye.

Infrared motion detectors seen through the Infrared Scope, from "Sonic to the Rescue".

Through the Infrared Scope's lens, the wearer can see infrared motion detectors to better avoid setting off alarms. Its earpiece is also outfitted with a communicator connected to a separate headset, allowing the wearers to stay in radio contact.[1]

Seeking to rescue Cream and Cheese from Area 99, Sonic the Hedgehog was given the Infrared Scope by Chuck Thorndyke to help him avoid the motion detectors within the facility and receive instructions from Chris and Chuck. Sonic later discarded the device when Tails came to the rescue.[1]
