The MX-4180 Electroplasmatic Capsulator is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is an invention created by Miles "Tails" Prower which can generate force-fields.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Electroplasmatic Capsulator is a yellow and grey energy cannon with three symmetrically-aligned legs. Standing on its footing is a rotatable cannon with a thick-mouthed barrel, a round midsection and an exhaust on the rear. Its upper section holds a small, yet tall dome, four prongs connected in pairs by wires, and a small red-tipped antenna. On its sides it has Tails' emblem.

Features and abilities[]

The Electroplasmatic Capsulator has a plantanium casing and hydroponic stabilizers. When used, it fires a beam that restructures the humidity molecules in the air to synthesize a hyper-magnetic force-field. These force-fields can either be projected as midair barriers or a surface-close field over targets, the latter of which can almost completely immobilize a person or reinforce fragile constructs. These force-fields appear to be unbreakable.[1]

The device runs on brainpower which is transmitted through a flying helmet-like hat with a red antenna. To fire the capsulator, the user just has to say something smart while wearing its helmet; conversely, saying something nonsensical shuts its force-fields down. Removing the helmet will yield the same effect.[1]

Season one[]

Sonic caught

Sonic's force-field enhanced cage.

The Electroplasmatic Capsulator was created by Tails for a fight with Dr. Eggman. After presenting the device, however, Eggman complimented Tails into handing the control helmet for the device over to him. Eggman then used the capsulator to immobilize Tails in a force-field, allowing him to win their duel. Afterward, Eggman removed the helmet and freed Tails so he could switch places with Knuckles. Eggman later stole the capsulator and used it to trap Sonic in a force-field enhanced bamboo cage. However, Knuckles managed to disable the force-field when Tails put the capsulator's helmet on him and had him say something nonsensical. After winning the battle with Eggman, however, Sonic's snark would annoy his friends, who decided to lock him with Eggman in a cage enforced with the capsulator's force-field.[1]
