The Haunted Depths Zone is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a Zone located amongst the Eastwatch Islands.[1]

History[]
Years prior to the present day, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy would be led to this Zone during their search for the Ancient Gears. Knuckles mentioning the area's similarity to a maze led Sonic to believe splitting up would be wiser for covering more ground. While the hedgehog proceeded onward by himself, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy struggled against a fire-breathing Badnik, which Amy would defeat with her Piko Piko Hammer.[1]
Not long after this victory, Sonic found himself pursued by Dr. Eggman via a drill vehicle through an underground passageway. Fortunately for Sonic, Eggman's mech would be rendered nonfunctional when the doctor inadvertently ran it into a massive boulder, forcing Eggman to retreat and allowing Sonic access to another Ancient Gear.[1]
