The Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, also known as the S.S.S.S.S Squad or 6-S Team, is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a group of three Badniks created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik for the special purpose of eliminating Sonic the Hedgehog. Created in 3228 when Sonic was eight, the trio was never able to achieve victory over their foe. In 3237 its members were hired by Mammoth Mogul and began to work at his casino.

History[]

Formation[]

After Coconuts was wrecked and his pieces delivered to Robotnik as a gift, Robotnik made Scratch and his non-identical twin brother Grounder the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, and gave them the task of stopping Sonic. They would have succeeded had they not gotten into an argument, during which Sonic took the opportunity to run a circle around them, wearing away the ground and burying them.[1]

Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts later managed to successfully trap the Knothole Freedom Fighters in a virtual reality simulation, but Sonic used the simulation to his advantage and smashed both the simulator and the Badniks.[2]

Working for Mogul[]

The 6-S, now with Coconuts as a member, were later employed by Mammoth Mogul after he took over Robotnik's old Casino Night Zone. When Mogul hired the Destructix, Nack the Weasel, Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear to capture Sonic (who proved successful), the 6-S wasted no time in mocking Sonic and gloating at how had been defeated. Their taunting was swiftly ended when Sally Acorn, Amy Rose and Geoffrey St. John came to rescue Sonic and forced Scratch and Grounder to retreat behind the bar.[3][4]

Note: From this point, the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad's history continues from its new existence in the altered timeline.
