The Mecha Gorilla[1] (メカゴリラ[2] Mekagorira?) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a large gorilla-based Badnik model created by Dr. Robotnik that was stationed in the Labyrinth of the Sky.

Appearance[]

The Mecha Gorilla is a robotic gorilla slightly larger than Sonic. It has a gray body, round and blue shoulders with yellow spikes, a brown head with yellow horns, black eyes, and a pair of brown feet, each with three blue toes. The Mecha Gorilla also posesses two detachable black hands with orange claws.

History[]

Sonic Labyrinth[]

In Sonic Labyrinth, Dr. Robotnik stationed the Mecha Gorilla as the guardian of the Labyrinth of the Sky's Chaos Emerald. However, Sonic would soon arrive, defeat the Mecha Gorilla, and take its Chaos Emerald.

Battle[]

The Mecha Gorilla is the boss of the Labyrinth of the Sky, and the first boss of Sonic Labyrinth. It is fought at the end of Labyrinth of the Sky Zone 1-4 with Sonic.

Boss guide[]

After first dropping onto the boss' platform, Sonic is initially assaulted by a horde of miniature exploding robot gorillas. After firing off his back, he sends forearms to wander around the board, the gorilla renders itself defenseless and wide open for the Super Sonic Spin Dash.

It occasionally re-attaches its arms and teleports around in order to make things a little more difficult. Upon defeat, the boss gives up a Chaos Emerald.
