STC11-Satellite

Robotnik's space satellite, from Sonic the Comic #11. Art by Ed Hillyer.

Robotnik's Space Satellite is an object that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It was a large, egg-shaped orbital laser cannon that Dr. Robotnik used to fire a death ray laser beam at the Emerald Hill Zone to reshape Mobius the way he wanted.

History[]

Time Racer[]

Robotnik's Space Satellite was created a short time after Dr. Robotnik's takeover as dictator as a part of his plan to transform the face of Mobius. When the satellite first fired, Sonic raced halfway around the planet to stop it, which he did by creating a giant mirror out of beach sand (by using his hyper-speed on it) and then using the mirror to reflect the beam back at the space satellite and destroy it.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The satellite's shape and function bears several similarities to Robotnik's Death Egg satellites, one of which had been destroyed some time before[2] and one of which was built some time after.[3]
