The Maginaryworld monsters are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are inhabitants of Maginaryworld, with three unique monsters and one boss monster on each board (except for Fourth Dimension Space, which has only two common monsters). Special monsters guarding pieces of the Precioustone also appear on every board.

A battle with a monster initiates any time a player lands on a Battle Space or on a space with a piece of the Precioustone on it, and Doctor Eggman can place monsters on regular spaces using one of his inventions.

Battle[]

Battle Space

Each monster starts the battle with a Magical Card numbered from one to six above them. In order to fight the monster, the player selects one of their own Magical Cards of equal or higher value. The selected card spins from one to its number value, and the player must press A to stop it on a number.

If the card's number is higher than the monster's number the player will land a successful hit, or if the player's number is equal to the monster's it is a "Critical Hit", both of which cause the player to win the battle. If the card's number is less than the monster's card, the attack will fail and the monster will counterattack with its own card roulette.

If the roulette results in a card of higher value than the player's, it will deal -10 rings of damage and end the battle. If the player loses a battle without any rings, they will miss a go.

Forcejewels can also be used to influence the result of the battle in various ways. A battle win can reward the player with Forcejewels, or a Precioustone piece when winning against a Precioustone monster.

Emerald Coast[]

The monsters of Emerald Coast reflect the dual tropical and icy nature of their world.

A tall humanoid snow monster serves as the boss of the Emerald Coast board, wearing a long dress patterned with Void's pillar markings, and with long flowing hear resembling a cape. The Emerald Coast boss monster is the only boss not to have a piece of the Precioustone visible somewhere on its design.

Fire Bird[]

The monsters of Fire Bird are flying mechanical creatures reflecting the Fire Bird itself.

A mechanical phoenix much like the board itself serves as the boss of Fire Bird. The light blue piece of the Precioustone is visible in its cranium, and it has Void's pillar markings on many of his body and neck segments.

Nature Zone[]

The Nature Zone's monsters are wild animals and plants; however much like their habitat their designs are corrupted by Void's influence.

A large tree with a humanoid face serves as the boss of the Nature Zone board. Its roots and branches are all covered in the markings of Void's corruption, and its eyes glow from the green piece of the Precioustone it holds in its open mouth.

Riot Train[]

The Riot Train's monsters are stereotypical "Wild West" characters, and much like the monsters of the Nature Zone their designs reflect Void's corruption of their environment.

The boss of the Riot Train board is a mechanical monster made up of various parts of a train, with a cowcatcher and wheels, headlights for eyes, a pressure gauge and lever on the top of its head, and chimneys on its back. The yellow piece of the Precioustone is in the middle of its face as a nose or mouth, and many parts of its body are covered in Void's pillar patterns.

Fourth Dimension Space[]

The monsters of Fourth Dimension Space are abstract and geometrical in form, reflecting their dreamlike environment.

The Fourth Dimension Space boss closely resembles the Precioustone monsters, with the dark blue piece of the Precioustone at its core and a long insectoid body or head, with eight segmented limbs along its sides and Void pillar patterns spreading from spikes on its front.

Precioustone monsters[]

The Precioustone monsters are dark monsters with pieces of the Precioustone at their core. They mostly resemble aquatic creatures
