The Digital World is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an artificial reality that exists within the city systems of New Mobotropolis. It is the location where Nicole resides at.

History[]

Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally Acorn arrived at the Digital World after Nicole was magically enslaved by the Iron Queen, becoming "Iron Nicole" and capturing the citizens of New Mobotropolis.[1] Luckily, Sonic and Sally were able to infiltrate inside and find Nicole, only to be ambushed by the Iron Queen, taking on the form of a digitize-dragon-like monster. While Sonic distracted her, Sally managed to get Nicole to a quiet place and bring the digital lynx back to her senses. The two contemplated on a plan, as Nicole would pretend she is "Iron Nicole" while under the Iron Queen's "control" while Sally, Sonic, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Monkey Khan would travel to the other side of Mobius to knock down the Iron Dominion, one tribe at a time. With that plan in motion, Sally and Sonic escaped the Digital World and prepared to travel to the other side of the planet.[2]

Later on, Nicole and Shard the Metal Sonic trained and played digital chess inside the Digital World, some time after the events of Operation: Clean Sweep. Shard and Nicole discussed the two being "different" from the citizens of New Mobotropolis and their acceptance, as Shard has trouble learning if he would be easily accepted by the others despite his previous status as a killer Metal Sonic robot. However, Metal Sonic v3.7 infiltrated New Mobotropolis and ambushed the injured Antoine D'Coolette, to which Shard left the Digital World to check out the ambush.[3]
