This article pertains to the beta elements of the Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed.

Unused PS2 delete icon[]

On page six of the instruction booklet, the game features an option to delete one's save file. Although this remains true in the Wii Version, the PlayStation 2 version does not show it in the final game. The only proof of its existence is an image with the PlayStation 2 buttons.

Unused graphics[]

There are five unused graphics that can be found within the game's files.

Unleashed Ranks Outlines
A lining of the game's ranking system, having a type of glow associated to them. Though it's possible they at least the S and A ranks could be used, as they sparkle before the screen fades into black. the player can still never see it by normal means.

Clip Transcript File Notes
Looks like collecting Rings gives you energy back, Sonic! V_011
This jumbled up ball of energy feels… It feels just like your power, Sonic! V_012 Chip talking about the orbs.
Once you grabbed it, you can throw it! And that goes for enemies too! V_065 Seems to be an early clip of learning how to throw objects.
Hey, what's this? We should take it with us and check it out later. V_072 Chip talking about the three purple key-like objects scattered for the player to find. A different clip is used instead.
Hey look! It's another one of those things, Sonic! Let's keep looking for more! V_073 It seemed that Chip would have given more information about the key-like objects. However, he stays silent when they are collected in the final game.
We're up to three now! Wonder what happens when you gather three? V_075
I see a lever! Let's see what it does. V_081
Weird, somebody left a bobsled out here. Hey, let's go for a ride, Sonic. V_100 Meant to play in Cool Edge Act 1 (day). The player spawns near the bobsled immediately, having no time for Chip to even talk about it in the final game. Although there is another one in Arid Sands (day), it would be much too late for Chip to tell the player about it.
We've gotta get up that tower, Sonic! That's the only way forward. V_101 Meant for Rooftop Run Act 1 (night) referencing the Clock Tower.
Hmm... That thing looks like a lever, maybe we can move it. V_102
Get up enough speed, and you can run right across water. Slow down and you'll sink though so be careful. V_118 Meant to play in Dragon Road Act 1 (day). In the final game, even with the slowest of speed, the player will still go across the water and they are unable to stop.
That spray looks awful cold, Sonic. If you get hit with that, you'll freeze. V_119 Meant to play in Cool Edge Act 1 (night)
