The Doomsday Pod is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a prototype machine created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik, intended to wipe out the Wolf Pack.[1]

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Doomsday Pod resembles a gray flying saucer, with a conical structure on its top, and a jet booster on its underside.[1]

Features and traits[]

In addition to the several laser guns mounted on its underside, the Doomsday Pod is incredibly durable, although it appears to be weak against lightning. The Doomsday Pod is also capable of flight.[1]

History[]

Cry of the Wolf[]

The only known Doomsday pod was sent to the Great Canyon by Dr. Ivo Robotnik, both to test it, and destroy the resident Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters. However, the Wolf Pack managed to disable the Doomsday Pod, prompting Robotnik to send Snively and a Tech-Bot down to repair it. Once repaired, the Doomsday Pod rose up, only to be almost immediately shot down again by a stolen cannon fired by the Freedom Fighters. However, said cannon did not even make a dent in the Doomsday Pod, allowing it to rise back up and begin rapidly firing lasers at the Freedom Fighters. Attempting a different tactic, Sonic used his speed to create a miniature tornado which blew the Doomsday Pod into a cliff face at high speed. But despite being dented, the Doomsday Pod sill retained 80 percent of its functionality, forcing Sonic to lure it into a lightning field, where it was subsequently struck by lightning, and destroyed.[1]
