Blaze using the Fire Boost
|Statistics and Overview|
A fiery burst of speed that turns the user into a destructive projectile.
The Fire Boost (ファイアーブースト Faiābūsuto?) is one of Blaze the Cat's signature techniques. It first appeared in Sonic Rush and later in Sonic Rush Adventure. When using the Fire Boost, Blaze turns herself into a fiery projectile. It is the equivalent of Sonic the Hedgehog's Super Boost from the same games.
In order to perform the Fire Boost, the player has to have energy in Blaze's Tension Gauge. To perform, the player must hold / (note that only performs the Fire Boost in Sonic Rush Adventure) while Blaze is standing on the ground. The Fire Boost can be performed as long as there is energy in the Tension Gauge. If the gauge is at its maximum level, Blaze has unlimited Fire Boost for a short amount of time.
When using this move, Blaze uses her pyrokinesis to envelop herself in a large fireball and launch herself forward at increased speed as a highly destructive projectile, without virtually any acceleration delay. This grants Blaze limited invincibility (she can still take damage from running into obstacles such as spikes and being crushed) and allows her to damage any enemy in her path for as long as she has energy in her Tension Gauge. While Blaze is unable to activate this move in midair, it will stay active when she jumps during the Fire Boost. However, the move will be canceled if Blaze runs into a wall, her Tension Gauge runs out or if the player releases /.
