Homing Attack on enemies ahead. |
Fire Claw (ファイアークロ Faiākuro?) is a technique used by Blaze the Cat in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It is Blaze's equivalent of the commonly used Homing Attack. When using this move, Blaze locks onto her opponents and attacks them with a quick strike.
Description
Edit
The mechanics behind the Fire Claw technique are very similar to those of the Homing Attack. Much like the Homing Attack, when performing the Fire Claw, Blaze launches herself forward and homes in on a nearby enemy to attack. Also, once Blaze bounces off her enemy from the attack's force, the Fire Claw can also be used to attack several enemies in a chain with a similar strike. In addition, the Fire Claw can also be used to target other things such as Item boxes. However, unlike the Homing Attack, instead of jumping into the air and launching herself forward with a mid-air Spin Attack, Blaze jumps directly from the ground and into the enemy with a small burst of flames, while horizontally spinning her body and sticking her right arm out in front of her to strike the foe (hence the name 'Fire Claw').
To perform the Fire Claw in gameplay, the player has to press the action button while Blaze is standing on the ground. To chain the Fire Claw, the player has to press the action button again just after Blaze has bounced off her enemy. If the player taps the action button twice without having any target present, Blaze will still perform the Fire Claw, but will be hurled through the air until she falls back on the ground, much like the Jump Dash. The player, however, has full control over Blaze's movements while she is moving through the air at this point.
