The Fish[note 1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, pufferfish-based Badnik model created by Dr. Robotnik.
Appearance[]
The Fishs bear a resemblance to hovering puffer-fish. They are all round in shape and with purple purple, except for their fins which are yellow. They also have gray spikes that they can protrude and two cartoonish black eyes.
Overview[]
In Sonic 3D Blast, the Fishs are encountered exclusively as enemies in Spring Stadium Zone and Gene Gadget Zone. In gameplay, they float back and forth along a fixed diagonal line within their designated areas. They will also periodically puff up, thereby extending their spikes, and then deflate, which retracts their spikes.
These Badniks can easily be destroyed with a Spin Jump while they deflated; otherwise, Sonic will take damage when he touches their spikes. In Gene Gadget Zone, it should be noted that the Fishs have a tendency to hover above electrified floors, preventing the player from simply standing underneath them and waiting until it is safe to attack.
Upon their destruction, the Fishs release their respective power source, a purple Flicky, which can be picked up by Sonic.

The Fishs are capable of levitation and can protrude spikes from their bodies.

- The Fish is the only Badnik in Sonic 3D Blast that appears in more than one Zone.
- The Fish resemble the real-life kind of fish, Tetraodontidae.

- ↑ This Badnik was given no official name upon or after the release of Sonic 3D Blast. However, its name was revealed in the Debug Mode for the unofficial Sonic 3D Blast: Director's Cut video game developed by Jon Burton, the lead programmer of the Genesis version of Sonic 3D Blast. When asked about its validity, Burton confirmed that this Badnik's name was used in the original game.
