For the regular attack, see Kick. For the Nintendo 3DS version of this move on Sonic Lost World, see Somersault Kick.

The Flying Kick[1] or simply Kick,[2] is one of the Parkour moves used by Sonic the Hedgehog in the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. When using this move, Sonic kicks an enemy away.

When performing the Flying Kick, Sonic runs up to an enemy and immediately hits it with a mid-air kick while dealing damage. Enemies hit by this attack will then be sent flying away in the direction the player kicked it until they touch a surface (weaker enemies are destroyed while stronger can survive it once). This move is sometimes the only means of defeating some enemies which cannot be defeated by the Homing Attack, but unlike the Homing Attack, the Kick can only be used to attack one enemy at a time. Also, if another enemy is caught in the path of the enemy knocked away by the Flying Kick, they will both be defeated.

This move is required to take out certain types of Badniks such as Antons and Crabmeats. The move can also be used on certain projectiles to reflect them back, such as shelled bombs dropped by a golden Ball Hog or Zor's missiles in the Silent Forest Zone 2 fight. Flying Kicks also have no effect on stronger enemies such as giant Caterkillers, or on bosses (with the exception of Zavok when he is guarding during the Sky Road Zone 4 boss fight in the Wii U/PC version).

To perform this move, the player must approach a Badnik. When close enough to the enemy so that it is locked-on, the player must jump and press Snnwiidsxbuttondisco/Snnwiidsybuttondisco on the Wii U GamePad to kick the Badnik. If multiple enemies are locked-on at once, the enemy closest to Sonic will be targeted.
