Do you think Sega should/will make a game based on the archie sonic comics?

No.

Ditto, Comics aren't meant to be made into video games. Jake the Hedgehog That's Just How I Roll! 14:10, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Plus, it'd be way too plot heavy.

No and no. Although Sonic Spinball did feature some Archie/SatAM characters as cameos in bonus stages. -- Supermorff 14:16, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

I'll just leave this here. Come to think about it, dunno if theres an article on this. I might make one tommorow.--Mystic Monkey Sez 03:30, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Just found out we do indeed have an article Sonic-16.--Mystic Monkey Sez 19:46, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Defenitely not! SEGA and Sonic Team both don't like these comicbook adaptions or the idea of a squirell with a hedgehog. They'd never go for it. Not to mention it just wouldn't fit with the main canon. Look at Sonic 16, if that was released, it would have been like an earlier Sonic 06.Classicsonicawesome 23:47, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

@Jake the Hedgehog Except when the comics themselves were based off of the video games to begin with, although, we haven't really seen any video games that have been made that were based off of a comic book series based off of their own video game series. Still, look at the Batman Arkham games.

@SalaComMander And since when have video games been criticized for having a plot? I mean look at these games: Uncharted, Batman, Assassin's Creed, The Legend of Zelda, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption - all of these games have plenty of storytelling and they aren't criticized for it. Besides, Sonic Chronicles had a large plot to it and I still got a kick out of playing it.

@Classicsonicawesome I disagree, I don't think SEGA dislikes the comic book series, I mean, why would they include comic book covers in the extras of Sonic Mega Collection, why is SEGA making Archie make comic book adaptations of their upcoming games, and why are they even allowing this comic series to go on? I mean, look at the Endgame page in this wikia, one of the descriptions say "When writing the story, Ken Penders planned that Sally was originally slated to have died in the event, but fan reaction to Sally's death was massive, and Sega of America also wished to keep her alive for promotional purposes." As you see here, SEGA actually cares about whats going on in this comic series. Speaking of Sally, whats wrong with the relationship between her and Sonic? Its better than Elise who is a HUMAN. If they would turn down the concept of a relationship between a squirrel and a hedgehog then I have no idea why the h**l would they go along with the concept of a human and a hedgehog. No one cares about mixed breeds, but beastiality is much more concernable issue since our human society is concerned about, well, humans. And Amy, well, shes just for comic relief since Sonic always runs away from her and she doesn't seem to care. Sonic has never expressed any romantic feelings towards Amy except in Sonic Chronicles, depending on the player's choice, but that game wasn't made by Sonic Team anyways, plus she is too young for Sonic anyways and too obsessive over him like the biggest fangirl she is. But enough about relationships. Why does it matter if the game doesn't fit in with the main canon? The canon is already littered with standalone games like Sonic Rush Adventure and Sonic Unleashed. What I mean by this is that characters like Marine, Mephiles, and Chip are given very important roles in the games' storyline in the respective games they are introduced in, but they are never seen again. Not to mention the dispute on how the Sonic games are chronologically ordered; Sonic CD is supposed to take place between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, but recently it has been stated that Sonic CD takes place before Sonic 4, but it has also been stated that the game takes place before Sonic 2 which contradicts the other statement. By this point, it doesn't even matter what would fit in with the main canon because it seems really screwed up right now anyway. Last thing, did not look horrible at all Sonic-16. Sonic 06 was heavily criticized for being very buggy and I didn't see anything wrong with Sonic-16 as far as technical issues go. But more importantly, the game was based off of SatAM, not Archie. All that we saw from the video was just gameplay footage and it doesn't even look that bad.

@Anyone who reads this. I don't know why nobody likes the idea of a Sonic game being based off of its comic book series to made, I thought it was a pretty good idea. In fact, I remember that SEGA posted something on their blog that a contest that was held on 1up.com. The goal was to submit an idea for the next Sonic game, the 4 people with the best ideas would each win a Sonic 20th anniversary figurine and a copy of Sonic Generations for the Xbox 360. One of the winners' ideas was a Sonic game based off the Sonic comics. Don't believe me? Go to this link ---> http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9092429 Austin311 02:11, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
