Battle 1: Okay, it's pretty obvious Shadow is going to win. He's got Chaos powers, a vast intellect (Though not on the level of Eggman, Tails or Gerald) and is faster. the only way Knuckles could counter is with his strenth, his flight (Using his dreadlocks) or with his own chaos powers if the Archie Comics are taken into account (But they probably won't). Plus, as shown in Shadow's titular game, he has his own above average strenth too: Enough to lift up a truck. Plus, even without the shoes he has above-average speed. Oh, and don't forget the power boost when the rings are removed.
Battle 2: While I would LIKE tails to win this battle, Sonic obviously has this one hands down. He has the speed, skill and power. Tails, on the other hand, has intelligence, Chaos powers if Archie comics are taken into account (But again, they most likely will not) flight, and enough gadgets to send Sonic to Skaro. However, another advantage Sonic has is his popularity. So he's obviously wiinning in the poll. Shame, because in my opinion, Tails>Sonic. The Two-tailed fox is too underated.
(Sigh) It really sucks that Shadow is going to win this round just because fans tend to gravitate towards the flashier character. Knuckles is more fleshed out and had to put up with a lot of bad writing over the years.

1) Knux - He knocked down super sonic in 1 hit in his 1st appearace, plus shadow is too overrated

Shadow and Sonic, because it's just that simple and their the resident Hero vs. Rival anime cliche that is probably more popular than Sonic vs. Knuckles.
Shadow beats Knuckles because it's the same reason why he's more popular than him, he's simply a more interesting and badass arch rival than Knuckles is. Shadow has super speed and is equal to Sonic in speed. He has a multitude of chaos powers and his mastery of their power more than any character. He's to smart, and he's to ruthless for Knux. He has well versed skills instead of Super Speed and Chaos abilites like guns and hand to hand combat. As for the whole his powers can be shut down by Knux idea, if it never happened to him in cannon I don't see why it would happen now.
Also Shadow beat Knux in Sonic X so thats a strike for him.
As for Sonic vs. Tails.
Unless Tails has reed richards prep, he's not beating Sonic on a good day. Sonic has quick and hyper intutivness and reaction timing, he cans imply process the situation and overwhelm his little blue buddy into submission. Sonic's speed is to much of a factor here. Sonic has better physical attributes compared to Tails. And due to fighting Eggman so much he will suspect Tails inventions that akin to Eggmans, So Sonic wins.
Sonic/ well going 765 miles per hour not even a plane can save Tails.
Knuckles/m His power is equal to Sonic's speed and has a Super and Hyper form. He uppercut Sonic out of his super form. Chaos spamers/emos don't have a shot at winning while he can burrow and pumble Shadow. Master Emerald takes care of chaos control. Sadly Shadow's fans will ensure Shadow's victory but in a fight without fans Knuckles especcially cause he gives no mercy to machines.

1. Knux, his first appearance he took out super sonic in one shot and shadow could never do that
2.Tails, for 3 reasons 1) he just took out a character who killed sonic 2) he has died 0 times sonic has died 3 times 3) he's probably tired of all the crap sonic puts him through

Let's compare the fighters levels of skill with speed, power, skill, and special abilities.
Battle 1:Speed-Shadow. Really a no brainer. Shadow was always faster than Knuckles. Power-Knuckles. Knuckles practically invented power type characters. Skill-Knuckles. Knuckles has alot more experiance fighting than Shadow does, if you think about it. Sure Shadow is over 50 years old, but if you count all of the time in suspended animation, he's only been fighting for two or three years at most. Special Ability-Draw. Shadow has so much Chaos Power, it has to be restrained with inhibitor rings. When he takes the rings off, he is basically a living Chaos Emerald...if only for a short while. But if Knuckles' link with the Master Emerald allows him to counter Shadow's power, all Chaos Powers in this fight are basically mute. Result-I think Shadow's Chaos abilities would probobly tip the balance in his favor, but not when they are being countered by the power of the Master Emerald. Without Chaos Powers, it comes down to a fist to fist fight. And Knuckles' fists never seem to fail. My vote goes to Knuckles.
Battle 2: Speed-Sonic. But not by a whole lot. Power-Sonic. Difficult to call, since Tails' tails are so strong, but Sonic seems to be stronger. Skill-Sonic. Yes, Sonic is a much more experianced fighter than Tails is. After all, he trained him. Special Ability-Tails. Sonic has alot of moves, but Tails seems to know almost all of them plus his flight and tail combat. Result-Tails will initially give Sonic a run for his rings, but in the end Tails just can't knock out his best friend. My vote goes to Sonic.
O my GOSH! shadow can never beat knuckles, whose first appearence involved him beating FLIPPING SUPER SONIC in one hit. shadow could never EVER EVER do that. EVAR. sheesh. sure he has chaos powers and all, but did you see chackra X's nazo unleashed. Nazo beats super shadow, using CHAOS CONTROL, in one shot. nazo beats (i hate to say that) maximum heat knuckles after getting the ultimate uppercut. sheesh. Is anything else needed to be said. what about this. Whos played sfr. shadows voice went from badass to horrible(sorry, but shadow is NOT a brit) whereas knuckles pretty much went from what he was to the same thing with a different dude in the credits. fin. battle 2 is easy.

Why on EARTH is Shadow losing? He's ten times the fighter Knuckles will ever be! He has the strength to resist mind control, unlike Knuckles, as shown in Last story mode in Shadow the Hedgehog '05! Shadow, ALSO unlike Knuckles, has the power to teleport WITHOUT the use of all seven chaos emeralds OR the Master Emerald itself. That proves TRUE POWER! I'd love to see Shadow in the finals, where he DESERVES to be! Knuckles thinks he has it all, but he doesn't know what kind of power is before him. He's taking on the Ultimate Lifeform for crying out loud! GO SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!

Battle 1--Shadow. Knuckles is strong, but he can only attack from close up, whereas Shadow has plenty of long-ranged attacks. Shadow could just stay far away from Knuckles and Chaos Spear him to death.
Battle 2--Tails, surprisingly. Tails can do pretty much everything Sonic can do, except spindash from a standing position. Also, he can shoot lightning (see Sonic Heroes), which is a huge advantage over Sonic. Besides, Sonic can't use his only attack (the spindash) if his quills are charged with Tails' electricity, meaning that all he could do would be run away. Besides, Tails is invincible (see Sonic 2, S3&K, and Sonic Heroes).
- That's some strange ideals you've got there. Tails can't do everything Sonic can (though he can spindash), Tails can only use thundershoot if teamed up with someone, witch he isn't. Sonic's sole ability isn't the spindash, he has other abilities, mainly the homing attack. And Tails is only invincible in Sonic Heroes when you're not playing as him, as is Sonic. - You do realize that the "invincible" thing was a joke, right? And all of Sonic's abilities, including the homing attack, are variations of the spindash, which once again, he can't use if charged. And Tails could use that arm cannon thing to shoot lightning in Sonic Chronicles, right?

1. Knuckles the Echidna. I've always preferred red echidnas over black hedgehogs (no offense).
2. Sonic the Hedgehog. Sorry it's had to come to this. The world's fastest hedgehog has to take down his own best friend and adopted younger brother.

2. tails because hes one of my favorite sonic characters and he beat to silver and something about competitions I thought of "if you lose its best to lose to the best" what I mean by that is if you lose wouldnt it be better to lose to the best one like if you lose in the first round then your opponent lost in the second that would make you seem weak and since tails beat silver I voted for tails

I pick Knuckles over Shadow and Tails over Sonic, and since people want to see sonic vs shadow there really not giving tails and knuckles a ghost of a chance are they? its a damn shame really.

1: Ehh, my least favorite character versus one that actually could do something besides being all mopey. I vote Knux. Although he won't win versus the amounts of Shadow fans.
2: Ooh, a battle-royale, and at that one that I guessed would happen eventually. I vote Tails for this one, Sonic may have his speed but Tails knows his buddy inside-out, and with his smarts he could engineer something outstanding to trip him up.

Knuckles vs Shadow: Shadow is one of the most popular characters of all time, behind Sonic, how would Knuckles beat Shadow anyway?
Sonic vs Tails: If somebody is a fan of the classics, it's unlikely they'll vote for Tails anyway. Tails can't beat Sonic in popularity, especially since most who like Tails would still prefer Sonic over Tails, although maybe a select few won't. Guess the last match is set, Sonic vs Shadow.
Shadow is so over rated and lame. 10 things I hate about Shadow 1. He started this annoying trend of being a wannabe Knuckles 2. He died and then came back, that's lame. 3. His voice is annoying 4. He was the only Sonic Series assist Trophy in Brawl and all he did was make stuff slow, If he really wanted to help he'd zip through the stage and take everyone out. 5. There is too much awkward unnecessary cursing in his game 6. He became a good guy, that is the worst when bad guys become good guys. 7. He has the worst theme song in SA2 and Sonic Heroes 8. He has a following of annoying fan boys who threaten to kill you when you make lists of why he is stupid. 9. He hangs out with Maria who is extremely creepy 10. He drank all the apple juice. Sonictoast, you are insane. Shadow is stronger than sonic, as fast as sonic WITH is inhibitor rings (meaning he is faster with them off),has many more skills than sonic, and over all, HE IS WAY MORE EPIC THAN SONIC!! By the way people, knuckles only beat super sonic because he wasn't ready. My first vote goes to the most epic hedgehog to ever exist.
As for my second vote, is there really any doubt that the blue blur will lose?
This contest is just wrong. I'd bet all the money I own (not really) that in the end, it is going to be Super Shadow vs. normal Sonic, and Sonic will still get a fair amount of votes, just because he is popular.
@ Ediskrad327: I'm not Sonictoast, but just because you have more skills does not truly make you the better fighter. As Shadow is more powerful with the rings off, there is a price to using them. Also, Sonic happens to have something Shadow lacks, perserverance/stamina. Sonic can outlast Shadow's attacks, and can likely come back with the final attack. As for the Knuckles vs Super Sonic thing, he was in his Super Sonic form. Sonic should not have to be ready to sustain damage, which can only mean that Knuckles is one of the few Sonic characters who actually knows the weaknesses of Chaos Power, and can stategize against it.

Battle 1: Knuckley Knuckles (yes, I regularly call him that) all the way. I think Shadow's an overrated, illegitimate, lame cliché who lost his evil twin-vibe from SA2 the instant his own game came out. I don't think he's wack 'cause of how he became a good guy (sort of a good guy), but rather because of how he acts like he's "all that" and because of how all his fanbrats act like he's "all that." Not to mention that his raspy voice acting after Sonic Heroes is really annoying. Knux, on the other hand, is the must underrated character IMO. He's as strong as Sonic is fast (not as speedy as him, but fast enough to keep up), an expert martial artist (boxing and karate or judo I'm assuming), he's got the Master Emerald on his side, hip-hop theme songs, and he's got freakin' spikes on his fists!

If anyone is overpowered in this series, it's Shadow, especially considering he doesn't even need emeralds to use his powers, so Knuckles shutting down the chaos emeralds wouldn't do much, and on top of that, why in the hell would Shadow sit there while Knuckles says the long chant knowing it will take away chaos powers? It simply wouldn't happen, Shadow induces chaos control right when Knuckles starts talking -> KO, whether you like the character or not you should know Shadow is stupidly overpowered, having Sonic's speed and great strength as well to easily lift a damn bus effortlessly with one hand and knock down walls and have projectiles on top of it all
Now as for the vote, I like Knuckles and Shadow the same for different reasons, so I won't vote
I like both Shadow and Knuckles, but I will give it to Knuckles.
Sonic vs Tails, well I'll give it to Tails, but Tails was actually supposed to be better than Sonic when he came out. He could run almost as fast, fly somewhat as fast, he is a brilliant strategist, can build machines that equal, or surpasses, Robotnik's (not Eggman), and he is even able to create weapons and even predict his opponents attacks better than Sonic can.
Guess what Ediskrad, if shadow didn't have tenacity, he would have been dead TWICE!!(Yes, I'm the same person who put down Sonictoast.)
