Changing the background to a holloween/Sonic theme. The background would be black, with Tails' (orange, to fit with the Halloween colors), and Big's insignias. It's the last quarter of the year now. That means the best holidays will be happening, such as Halloween. So how 'bout Halloween on SNN again? It's actually 50% grey, to represent Sonic's darker side as a werehog. While I personally like it the way it is I can understand why some would want it more traditional in colour. Thats why I am thinking of making a selection of background to be chosen from. I think the background looks amazing as it is. It's fine without any orange IMO. Besides, orange tends to be a vibrant colour, and if it was added to the pattern, it might clash and stand out from the more somber colours already present. That's just the way I see it. I'd like the werehog background unchanged. I chose purple as while the Werehogs colour is darker blue than hedgehogs colour in Unleashed, in Unleashed menu's had his theme colour purple. The warehog background looks awesome. Doesn't need any changes. I suggest instead of the usual opening warring about spoilers, it should have it say: "Be aware ghost and goblins haunt some of the pages here. View at you own risk!".

Mystic's ideas are great. The "gif" idea sounds cool, and creepy music to match...wow. But I think we need to change the background color (you know, the actual page, not the skin) to orange or navy blue, too. Plus, something like Splash's wordmark would be cool. (Just throwing things out there)

Actually, it works exactly like the pumpkin at the bottom right of this page. All you need to do is edit the home page and add the photo to the bottom left and the bottom right.
I was talking to my friend about it and he said it's a JavaScript program. The program was called Desktop Ponies and it basically allows ponies to wonder around your desktop but you can also have them on websites. I was thinking something more like a GIF picture with no background that is basically a Hyudoro floating around, and then putting it on the top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right. That way, it doesn't interfere with text.

Mum considers trick-or-treating a form of begging, especially when it resorts to vandalism like egging because they didn't get desired treats and they can get away with it because it's Halloween. Can the wiki color thing also be changed to navy blue? (the color that effects the thing at the top of the page, the thing that scrolls when you scroll, and the border around the chat, the reason navy blue is to match with the werehog in the background. Mystic, I know. If I animate it, it'll take a lot more work, which is why I wanted to see if anyone was satisfied.
The ghosts don't loop properly. They get to the end of the animation (which is too far down the screen that I can't see them) then skip up to start again. They need to start and end in the same place. There's also a bit where they stop for a moment, which is a bit odd. They also need to be positioned higher on the screen, and maybe at different heights. AND they need to use the proper animation provided by Mystic, after the other issues are sorted. I tried looking up HTML that wikia would like to make images have AI and to wonder around the screen independantly but jeeze, WikiCode is boring! Yeah, we wouldn't have one across the whole page, just up and down the sides. I wonder if people with different screen resolutions might still be inconvenienced by this? I just tried setting the link=null, which does stop links from appearing but you still can't click anything underneath it. Maybe they should be smaller to take up less room? Maybe we should put them in specific places, where there's text but no images, e.g. the middle of the featured user interview.
BUT if we're doing that, it makes more sense to me to not have them moving about to much and not to have them permanently on the screen. That is, we should try to animate the appearing and then popping animations too. They could move backwards and forwards a bit, but that's less important. And they should be smaller, probably about the size of Mystic's animation, above, so that we could put them in more places, sort of surreptitiously. Two possibilities: going up and down the sides is fine, but people have different screen resolutions, and it might cause problems for people with lower resolutions (as it is for me, they already cover up some of the buttons on the right); the other option is to keep them really small and just make them move left and right a bit, and position them over pieces of text without links. Ths is where they'd need to disappear. Maybe it's possible to do both? But it's vitally important that we don't damage the functionality of the main page by implementing.

Problem with previewing the MediaWiki:Monobook.css after I edit is that it doesn't show me a demonstration of the website edits I made unless I refresh the page which will loose everything. Okay, so I had a go at the wordmark. Rough first draft. I don't like the dark orange we've got in our current wordmark against our purple skin, so I went back to one of JakPhoenix's wordmarks from Forum:SNN New Logo 2012. Then I stuck Tails Doll on it. Problem is that I doubt the Wikia people would understand why Tails Doll is Halloween-y. (Actually, the image of Sonic in a cape has the same problem when taken out of context.) But here it is. What is the URL address of the Wikia skin background? I know that when the background skin is change it keeps on the same url. If I can have that url for the MonoBook skin then the MonoBook background will automatically update along with the wikia backgroud... Wikia doesn't support monobook and the contest had nothing to do with monobook, so changes to a monobook skin were never going to get mentioned. Not that it really matters. We shouldn't have won because the prize would have been pretty pointless for us; we already get the kind of promotion on offer just because we're so big and active.
Separate note, on my system, the reverted wordmark now has an opaque (white) background again, instead of transparent. I can't seem to fix it. Can anyone figure it out? -- Supermorff (talk) 18:46, November 5, 2012 (UTC)
