I was thinking about starting this poll on Humans talk page but thought best discuss it here. Basically when civilians have appeared in Sonic games since Sonic Adventure, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed they have have been designed differently throughout the games and have gone through three major styles. Sonic Adventure had the humans in a simple anime style, Sonic Next-Gen had the humans looking more real, despite the habbit of excessive arm waving and in recent Sonic games like Sonic Unleashed and even that Progressive advert, humans have appeared in a more western cartoon like design.
So which is your favourate style for civilians in Sonic games?
Personally, I don't like the humans current Looney Tunes like style. The games have detailed environments with high definition textures to make the world of Sonic look more real and decent, so the humans with caricature features kind of clashes with the details that have gone in to the environment. Yes they could go with making the humans look more real but then again this may give the bad taste of Sonic Next-Gen, especially with arms waving around wildly. I prefer the humans to look anime style because manga is Japans comics for both silly and serious genres and the sensible humanoid shapes with slight caricature features (huge eyes, thin noses and mouth) wouldn't clash as much. After all while Sonic is usually Americanised these days, I still think elements of Japanese style should retain within Sonic's life.
An alternate idea is that human civilians can simply look like western comic humans like you would find in Marvel or DC comics. When the super characters suffer mutations or wear costumes that set themselves different from the normal people they protect or when the main characters meet everyday humans that have personal styles that make them stand out. I prefer the humans in Sonic world to be anime or at least western in apperance than look cartoon like. Or at least a creative blend between Cartoon and Anime.--Mystic Monkey is a proud MonoBook Wikian. 17:27, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
