Okay, this is the first time I tried to make a forum, so forgive me if I made a mistake.

Anyway, let's face facts. Sonic game aren't what they used to be. I like some of his new games (like Sonic Unleashed), but the whole thing has gone down hill...

BUT... is there hope? I read this and liked their ideas. Overall, I think if Sega follows these things he could go back to his glory days. Here is my specific feedback for each step:

1.) I'm glad someone else noticed this. It's like Sega makes at least three new characters each game. I say obiviously keep Sonic and Eggman. Tails, Shadow, Amy, and Knuckles can appear occasionally. Everyone else, erase. Omega, Silver, Blaze, Cream, Big, Chaotix, I MEAN EVERYONE! Look at the quality of characters instead of quanity.

2.) The only one I don't know about. Anyone else notice how polarizing Shadow is? There are a lot of people who hate him, and a lot of people who love him. There aren't that many who are neutral towards him.

3.) GOTTAGOFASTGOTTAGOFASTGOTTAGOFASTERFASTERFASTERFASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew... Seriously though, when Sonic turns to speed, it's good. Critics generally loved the daytime versions of Sonic Unleashed and they saw Sonic and the Secret Rings as a huge step in the right direction. Sonic shouldn't be wasting his time as, say a Werehog (I liked the night stages in Unleashed, but the daytime stages where soooooo much better. Plus, critics really hated those stages).

4.) Again, choose quality over quanity. Sega's already tried 4 times recently to "save" Sonic (Secret Rings, Unleashed, Chronicles, and Black Night). Mario and Link have both only had one big Wii game: Galaxy and Twilight Princess (spin-offs for Mario like Mario Kart and Mario Party don't count), and they're both two of the biggest video game characters of all time!

5.) Let's look at Mario and Link again. Basic Mario game: Bowser kidnapps Peach, tries to take over the world, and Mario stops him. Basic Zelda game: Ganon steals the Triforce and/or kidnapps Zelda (I think, I don't play Zelda games), and Link stops him. As for Sonic, his games get cluttered with time travel (Sonic the Hedgehog 2006), things happening 50 years ago (Shadow the Hedgehog), and other dimensions (Sonic Rush and Rival series). Highly detailed plots are good for RPGs, but they shouldn't be the focus on platformers, IMO.

Well, those are my views. What are your views on this or any other wasy to save Sonic? Go Mario! Sonic is good too, though 01:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Actually, us fans noticed for quite some time. It's Sega themselves who haven't really bee paying attention.--Mystic Monkey 02:01, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the reason Sega hasn't done anything about is that they're still making money. The recent Sonic games are still selling at least a million copies on average (I think). Some fans (myself included) keep buying the games hoping it will be the game that will "save" Sonic. Perhaps if people boycotted Sonic games until they made a great game again, Sega would have no choice but to spend a lot of time and effort making a great game? Unfortunately, I think there are too many fans in denial that Sonic has gone down hill for that plan to work... Go Mario! Sonic is good too, though 19:23, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

I do have a theory of why Sonic games do kinda suck of late... However, from all of my carefully considered theories, Sonic related or other, this has to be one of my most weakest as it isn't supported by good hard evidence. Bit TL;DR if your not interested.--86.128.161.63 19:45, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
