Result: No Auto-Signature feature will be implemented at this time.
Just like the Archive Protection idea, I think there should be a way to prevent people from not leaving their signatures. This I feel is somewhat more important, since I see it happen more often.

That's probably impossible. --Bullet Francisco (talk) Contributions Editcount 05:52, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
I don't see how it is possible to accomplish. And even if it was possible, why would we want to force people to leave their signatures on pages anyway? And how would we be able to prevent it from accidentally happening on articles and other pages where signatures aren't allowed? Lloyd the Cat"I don't die. To achieve something like this, I think it would need to be coded into the .js or something. The problem, though, is that a signature will show up everywhere. If you edit a page, your sig is inputted. Comment on a blog, your sig is inputted. Everywhere. The code would be acting on whether you type, but it wouldn't be able to make the distinction between forum and talk page posts and general editing. It would be a big, complicated mess, it would need to be added to everyone's .js, and it would cause more problems then it would solve. If someone doesn't sign their signature, someone else will usually tack the {{Unsigned}} template on it. Most people, however, remember to sign their posts. It's really not that big of an issue. :/ Trak Nar Ramble on 05:57, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
Adding on to my post, some people their talk bubbles or if you have a fancy signature like me, you use a template rather than a signature, to prevent an overload of unnecessary code. Also, Per Trak and Gen. --Bullet Francisco (talk) Contributions Editcount 06:16, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
Also adding on, there is a site-wide JS page that's loaded for everyone on every page load. --Foodbandlt 23:25, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

This may sound really stupid, but is it possible to program reminders sorta like a bot?? And yes, I made sure to say it out loud. :) TheAwesomefroggy (talk) 17:27, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

You can perform a search of whatever has been input using JS for something like "~~~~", but that would run into the problem of people who use templates for signatures. Although, even for people who use templates, you still have to type in "~~~~~" to leave a timestamp, right? Anyways, it could only be applied to the talk page and forum namespace, and not affect other namespaces. -- Foodbandlt 23:22, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Wouldn't this also force people who use signatures as standard to rememember to not use them on this wiki? That would be stupid, since you'd be penalising people for doing things properly. -- Supermorff (talk) 07:27, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I see your point. That'd be a little funny at first though. TheAwesomefroggy (talk) 16:55, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

How would other users getting annoyed be funny? --Bullet Francisco (talk) Contributions Editcount 23:21, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

No no no, it would make me look stupid for trying to so hard to force something on people for the wrong reason. And I did say at first. But I guess it still would be similar.TheAwesomefroggy (talk) 23:30, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Ah, so you don't think this should be implemented anymore? If so, I believe we can go ahead and close this. --Bullet Francisco (talk) Contributions Editcount 01:00, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Fine with me. :) TheAwesomefroggy (talk) 04:37, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
