Result: New categories and specific templates were created for stubs.

As you all know we have a category for pages consisted to be small or "missing substantial information": Stubs. Over time this category has grown tremendously. Thus making it harder for editors to get pages expanded due to the largeness of the cat. I have a great solution to this: Split the stub category into multiple categories.

Splitting the category would make it easier for an editor to narrow down what they want to expand. Many wiki's have sub stub categories, and from what i can tell it works out for them. It should be split by the major categories we have:

Each of these would have their own stub template & category (ex: {{Stub/Real World}}, [[Category:Stubs/Real World]]) I know this sounds like a big change, but it will make things easier. When this is approved i will make another forum to organize re-cating all the stub pages. It may take a while but it certainly be done.

One more thing i suggest is to change stub template to a header template. This will grab the user's attention fast and it would be bigger. SilverPlays97 (Wall) (Contributions) 10:26, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

I don't mind. This is a reasonable idea. I disagree with the idea of making header templates. Being big and attention grabbing isn't the point of stubs. I have a few other comments:

I do not think we need to totally partition the stubs category - it's okay to have general stubs, but being more specific is more useful if people want to go through and correct them.
I think you should combine TV and comics so that it's consistent with the category.
Some of the pictures you've chosen are great (e.g. Mega Drive controller, spinning Sonic), but some don't work when shrunk down that far (e.g. Tiara and Ian Flynn). -- Supermorff (talk) 12:59, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

I see your points about the headers. Do you mean by "totally partition" you mean some articles may not need to be re-categorized? I can see a few articles not needing to be specified, but the majority do. You can change the templates anytime you want. I am not sure about combining the TV and Comic stubs. I'm going to oppose because it seems like too tedious of a job and pointless to make so many stub category templates. I also disagree with the header for the reason Morff stated. Splash the Otter C E 11:57, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

Being a tedious job isn't a reason to oppose...besides, bots can help. And it's not pointless if it's going to be a convenience to the readers. I agree that the stub cat needs to be cleaned up a bit,seeing that a large majority of articles in the stub cat are comics and not everyone reads or knows alot of info on said comics.But instead of multiple templates why not make sure the plate your using now is alwas at the top of the page and if it can be done add a small list of things that are missing for each individual page and what needs to be added to make the page complete. Here's an example,the Chao breeding page is a stub and I have thought about adding more to it but a don't know what's missing outside of a picture of a Shiny Chao, Does that mean all I have to do is find a Shiny Chao picture and it's done or is there more info that needs to be added. Well I didn't mean put a tag system up, what I meant was stick it on the template. And I never said don't add multiple templates,all I suggested was to make sure the template your using now is always on top of the page so people can find it and add (the keyword here being add) the appropriate info to the template to tell people what's needed to complete each page. Here's another idea,instead of 10 templates why not just move the articles into different categories. Example,Comics in there own cat, Moves in there own cat,Real World in it's own cat,etc. And this way people will know what's what without (as I said above) 10 plus templates. And I agree with Shadow about making things more reader friendly,but we also have to strive to make this wiki more user friendly,hence my idea regarding the lack of info and how to fix it.ChuckfinleLP (talk) 23:06, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

Your idea about adding a reason to be marked as a stub is a good idea, but in order for your idea to reach it's maximum potential i think it is best to put in another forum. SilverPlays97 (Wall) (Contributions)

So let me see where we are:

we do want multiple stub templates with their own categories
we want the TV and Comic information into one template.
we want the template at the bottom of the page.

If I would lately give comment about this, the idea is good and expanding, but like Moff said about header templates, they aren't that much needed. I would like to think some good pictures for all non-header templates that are fitting and aren't taking much space (for expmple. Tiara). EDIT: Ok, I would pretty much like show off here as well some of better picture choices, because there's some that only need small HTML tweaking to look good. However I admit that, this is kinda hard to made pictures and text to the one row, as it is that exact to get them right, especially with television one.
