Trivia rules for wiki
Due to the concern about ridiculous trivia in articles, I've compiled some trivia rules to propose for the wiki for my trivia improvement project called "Project EasterEggman". Examples marked in green ared "good" and ones marked in red are "bad". Please leave comments in the different subjects and other discussion in the Discussion section--Milotheechidna 19:07, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
The following subjects are:
Grammar
- Bad Grammar will not be tolerated. Anything with a ridiculous amount of bad grammar will be deleted, not corrected
Amy is mo rehot tan Rogue
Comments
- Requiring it to be deleted will help assist people truly think about the trivia: Is it really necessary?
Stating the Obvious
- Pointing out little Easter Eggs that are familiar to any person who plays or reads the media are encouraged.
- Anything previously mentioned in the article that is repeated in the trivia will be deleted
- Anything obvious will be deleted
- In the Spagonia night hub a man can be heard whistling the tune of the orchestrated theme of Sonic Unleashed
- Sonic is blue
Comments
- This should maybe be split into several different rules which can be explained further, but they're good rules. -- Supermorff 19:20, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
Fandom/Opinions
- Fan - Related trivia will be heavily scrutinized for clarity and truth:
- Any trivia related for fans must be supported by a source; otherwise will be deleted
- Opinionated trivia must not only be sourced but must come from a professional critic
- Fans were allowed to enter in their artwork for Sonic and the Black Knight
- Fans were dissapointed when Knuckles wasn't included in Sonic Unleashed
Comments
- No trivia comments should say "fans thought this". Ever. What would be acceptable would be saying "A particular (named) critic thought this" with a reference. Or "the review in this magazine said". In the above examples, who allowed the fans to enter their artwork and how? -- Supermorff 19:20, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
Observations
- Observational trivia will be taken lightly but comparisons to other story arcs and characters must be kept within the SEGA Franchise
- Sonic is similar to Shadow in a number of ways
- Sonic is similar to Kappa Mikey in many ways
Comments
- Observations, even within the Sonic (not Sega) franchise, must be notable. They should not be minor coincidences, such as characters having the same number of letters in their names, nor should they be caused by both characters being based on the same stock character. -- Supermorff 19:20, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
