Who can merge articles in discussion for merger? Is this a power any user can do to a page once a page come to the conciseness of merger? Or is it a right only admits can do? --SilverPlays 97 (i will get my sig a template soon)
Only Administrators have the rights to merge articles, though everyone else can discuss said article's merge with another page on either one's talk page. Serious Sam Heavy 10:51, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
What? No, anyone can merge articles. It's just the nobody ever does. It's not easy. Make sure that all relevant info from one page has been included appropriately in the other one, then turn the first page into a redirect. That is unless we're talking about merging page histories, which only admins can do but it's an ability that never gets used except in very rare circumstances. -- Supermorff (talk) 06:26, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
- If you say so morff, i would like to merge these pages: [[1]] [[2]]. There talk pages both have agreed on merger. I am up to the challenge of finding all relevant information. Could you tell me how to make a redirect? As soon as i know that i will merge them.--SilverPlays97 (Wall) (Contributions) 13:23, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
- Once all the relevant info is one one of those pages (probably the second one, which looks like a correct title), then on the other one, replace all the text with
#redirect [[The History of Sonic the Hedgehog]]
- Is that clear? -- Supermorff (talk) 08:33, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
- Clear as day.--SilverPlays97 (Wall) (Contributions) 10:08, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
