When the Gaia Manuscripts said the Emeralds and Temples would summon a "Gaia Colossus," I didn't think they'd become the thing!

Dr. Eggman, Sonic the Hedgehog #285

The Gaia Colossus is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a colossal giant made out of the seven Gaia Temples with the seven Chaos Emeralds placed inside each temple. The Gaia Colossus's purpose is to defeat Dark Gaia.

Gaia Colossus Archie

The Gaia Colossus being built, from Sonic the Hedgehog #285.

During the final hours of the Shattered World Crisis, Dr. Eggman was victorious at his capture of Chip and the collection of the Chaos Emeralds. After learning of the Gaia Gate, Eggman had his Egg SWATs go into each Gaia Temple via the Gaia Gate and placing each Chaos Emerald inside. This, in turn, resulted in all seven temples forming the Gaia Colossus, which Eggman had plans to use the giant for his own means, much to Chip's dissatisfaction.[1]
