The Galactic Space Race is an event that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a regularly-held interstellar competition between various competitors, with a monetary prize available for the winner.

History

Tossed in Space

In need of repairs to his ship, Sonic the Hedgehog took part in a Galactic Space Race hosted by the E.C.H.S. during his trip back to Mobius, and although initially finishing in second place, advanced to first place after Scarabb, the winning racer, was disqualified for cheating.
