"Gigalopolis", a future city with ultra modern buildings. With the beautiful starry sky in the background, Sonic and Tails go berserk here too! Let's dash and cross the bridge that leans diagonally.

— Description, Sonic Chaos[1]

Gigalopolis Zone (ギガロポリス・ゾーン[1] Gigaroporisu Zōn?) is the second Zone of Sonic Chaos. In keeping with the other stages of this game, Gigalopolis consists of two standard Acts followed by a shorter, third Act which contains the Zone's boss. Gigalopolis Zone follows Turquoise Hill Zone and precedes Sleeping Egg Zone.

Description[]

Gigalopolis Zone is an ultra modern, futuristic city[1] set at night, under the stars. Some of the level resembles a construction site, with orange, metal frameworks and seemingly incomplete block walls. The background displays various high-rise buildings as well. Taken together, these features are somewhat reminiscent of Star Light Zone.

Boss[]

Main article: Bead Worm Boss

The Bead Worm Boss.

Gigalopolis Zone's boss is some sort of giant, upright, mechanical caterpillar. The machine attacks by lobbing the spherical segments of its own body in Sonic or Tails's direction. Dodge the metal balls and hit the automaton on its glass-shielded cranium to defeat it.

Trivia[]

  • In the Sega Master System version of Sonic Chaos, the music that plays in Gigalopolis Zone is a cover of a Korg M1 demo track called Oh Yes!
