The Graviton Mobile (グラビトンモービル, Graviton Mobile^?) is a boss from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as well as its locked-on form, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. It is fought in the second act of Carnival Night Zone.

Attack PatternEdit

Dr. Robotnik will drop a large green ball on the ground after following the player for a few seconds. He will then hover directly over the ball and spin the devices on the side of his craft around, creating a sort of electrical charge that arcs downwards around the ball. This lasts for about seven seconds, during which time the player will be sucked in unless constantly moving away. Robotnik must then descend to pick the ball up to repeat the process, which is the player's chance to attack. As usual, eight hits are required.

This boss has a tendency to take a long time to complete due to the limited chances to attack it, not helped by Act 2 of Carnival Night Zone being a long one. Time can be the biggest problem when confronting this boss. However, if Rings are no object then the player can score more than one hit by repeatedly bouncing above it. Tails does have the advantage of being able to damage the mobile from below whilst in flight so when playing as him or with two players playing as Sonic and Tails together time is not so much of a problem.

TriviaEdit

• Knuckles can skip this boss completely in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles by taking the path only Knuckles can access at the start of Act 2. But if the player takes the normal path via a cheat, the Capsule won't appear and Knuckles has to climb up the tube to fight the boss.
