Gremlyn

Gremlyn, from Sonic the Comic #139. Art by Carl Flint and John M Burns.

Gremlyn is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It was a robotic villain from the year 5000AD.

History

It was capable of absorbing the electrical energy from an entire city, rendering technologically-dependent civilisations helpless. Gremlyn could then fire this energy back at its enemies. With no opposition, Gremlyn prepared to conquer all of Mobius. However, it was destroyed by a trebuchet operated by Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary, a boulder fired from the weapon crushing the robot. Not completely wrecked, Gremlyn was driven away by the police.[1]

Trivia

  • The name 'Gremlyn' comes from a gremlin, or bug, in a computer system.
