A Gun Hunter in City Escape.
The Gun Hunter (ガンハンター , Ganhantā ? is a robot deployed by the military organization Guardian Units of Nations and is a part of the Hunter series. They appear as enemies in Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic Rush Sonic Generations
Game Appearances Sonic Adventure 2 Gun Hunters first appear right after Sonic exits the boarding part of City Escape . They usually stay curled up on the ground when turned off. When Sonic approaches, however, they rise to their full height and begin shooting at Sonic. A somersault is the easiest way to destroy them. Because of their height and the fact that they hold their gun like a handgun, Gun Hunters have partially poor accuracy, making their shot fairly easy to avoid, unless one was to jump high. However, some Gun Hunters fire trap shots that can catch Sonic. Some variations of the Gun Hunter have laser blasters instead of semi-auto guns, while others also carry a riot shield along with a gun and can only be hit when they drop their shield to attack.
Sonic Rush Gun Hunters also appear as enemies in Sonic Rush Huge Crisis level. They appear to be smaller than when they appeared in Sonic Adventure 2 and bear a rounded design with visible eyes.
Sonic Generations Gun Hunters return in City Escape , but have a redesign. They have much more realistic feet, bigger shoulders, carry jetpacks, don't have a shut down position, and hold their weapon like a minigun. They now have a much slower fire rate, and their weapon can be seen charging before firing. They appear in both acts of City Escape to attack Sonic, due to the fact that both Modern and Classic Sonic are the same Sonic. Like all other enemies in the modern games, Hunters are now blown back on impact. In fact, a few of the Hunters can be slammed into each other if hit just right.
Appearances in Other Media Archie Comics Omega with several F-6t Big Foot , Gun Hunter, and Shield Hunter robots in the Archie Comics.
The Gun Hunter robots have made several cameos throughout the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics . They had appeared during the brief attack by Dr. Eggman at Central City . (SU #38 )
