The Hard-Light Armor[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. Created by Dr. Eggman, it is a holographic energy armor meant for on-hands combat.

The Hard-Light Armor has spring-like shoulder and ankle pads, along with a helmet and torso armor piece resembling the Big Arm mecha. The Hard-Light armor covers Eggman's head, shoulders, arms, hands, torso, ankles, and legs.

Features and abilities

The Hard-Light Armor is a holographic brawler type armor made of pure energy. Its unique composition makes it resistant to crystalmancy. When fully charged, it can be used only once for five minutes.[2]

Despite its time limit, the Hard-Light Armor is quite potent, granting Eggman enough enhanced strength and durability to punch both Crystal Sonic and Walter Naugus with ease and without pain. It can also manifest an arm cannon which can fire a blast powerful enough to revert the crystalmancy on Metal Sonic and bright enough to temporarily blind anyone nearby.[1]

When Eggman gathered his Egg Bosses to help reclaim Eggmanland from the Naugus twins,[3] he knew that Walter needed to be dealt with personally and thus created the Hard-Light Armor as a trump card against the wizard.[2] When the time came to brawl against the Naugus twins, Eggman activated his Hard-Light Armor and used it against Crystal Sonic and Walter. Subduing Naugus, Eggman used the armor's remaining time and power to blast Naugus with an arm cannon. However, Crystal Sonic took the hit instead, which reverted the crystalmancy placed on Metal Sonic.[1]
