Knuckles teams up with Shadow and Shade to deliver a crushing attack likely to distract the target.

Hard Line (フライハイドロップ Furaihaidoroppu?, lit. "Fly High Drop") is a POW move used by Knuckles the Echidna, with the aid of Shadow the Hedgehog and Shade the Echidna, in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Knuckles and Shadow team up to hurl Shade into the air, who then falls down and attacks the opponent. This attack may leave the foe distracted.

Description[]

When performing Hard Line, Shade moves up in front of the selected opponent, before Knuckles then jumps up in front of Shade. As Shade then jumps into the air, Knuckles opens his palms for Shade to land on. When Shade then lands on his palms, Knuckles gives Shade a boost, hurling her high into the air. At the apex of Shade's ascent, Shadow teleports up to Shade and grabs her with both hands and then throws her higher into the air, before teleporting back to the ground. After reaching her maximum height, Shade dives directly down on top of the opponent, striking the opponent with both her fists first, before retreating to her team position.

In gameplay, Hard Line deals attack damage to a single target. When dealing damage, Hard Line has a chance of inflicting distracted on the target. The higher the level of Hard Line is, the more attack damage it will deal and the greater the possibility that it will inflict distracted on an opponent.

Real-Time Interaction[]

When performing Hard Line in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute Hard Line optimally:

  1. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it in a small curve on the lower part of the screen from right to left.
  2. The player has to tap an inner circle that appears eight times, before the outer circle overlap the inner circle.
  3. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it vertically across the middle of the screen from the top of the screen to the bottom.

Missing or not touching these circles correctly will either result in Shade missing the strike or the damage from the attack being reduced.
