Heart Bombs are objects exclusive to Rouge the Bat. They first appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). They are small, tech-styled bombs that can used to blow up surrounding enemies and obstacles such as walls, ice and glass.

Uses

Rouge can use the bombs offensively, either in close-range to long-range combat. While up against enemies, Rouge can throw one bomb or multiple bombs in a row. The bombs will detonate on impact; if they don't hit an object or enemy, they will detonate seconds after. Rouge can also use the Bomb Snipe, which is a first-person view of Rouge letting the player target with better accuracy.

The Heart Bomb reappears in one of Rouge's Challenge Acts in Sonic Generations. Instead of using them to destroy obstacles, Rouge throws them in Classic Sonic's path as obstacles in order to deal damage to him.
