Howard Drossin is an American composer for film and video games who has done work for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
History[]
Drossin's past work includes co-scoring with longtime collaborator RZA, The Man with the Iron Fists for Universal Pictures, starring Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu; several award-winning video game titles including Afro Samurai, Splatterhouse, and Baldur's Gate; a Super Bowl commercial; and orchestration on the Grammy-winning jazz record, A Tale of God’s Will. He has worked on albums and musical projects with a wide variety of artists such as Herbie Hancock, Terence Blanchard, Rod Stewart, The Black Keys, Beyoncé Knowles, Wiz Khalifa, and Paul Oakenfold.
Drossin composed the score for Sonic Spinball in 1993, and later worked on Sonic & Knuckles in 1994 and Sonic and the Black Knight in 2009. He also composed the album Virtual Sonic. He was also supposed to compose the soundtrack of Sonic X-treme, with a conceptual soundtrack by Chris Senn to serve for inspiration. However, the game was canceled and Drossin was unable to start his work.
