Hydro City is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was an ancient and abandoned underground city filled with water located underground on Angel Island.
Description
Despite its name, Hydro City looks more like a sewer than an ancient city.[2] According to Locke, Hydro City uses solar cells as a form of power.[3]
History
Constructed hundreds of years ago, Hydro City was supposedly constructed even before Echidnaopolis had been.[2]
In 3236, Knuckles the Echidna lead Monk to Hydro City to evade being captured by Hunter. Eventually, Knuckles managed to defeat the Overlander there, but not before Monk was killed.[2]
Trivia
- Hydro City is based on Hydrocity Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
- Assuming Hydro City was built before Echidnaopolis, it would had to have been built under the ground and before the Angel Island was created.
