Hyper Knuckles (ハイパーナックルズ, Haipā Nakkuruzu^?) is Knuckles the Echidna's hyper transformation that is gained when he taps into the power of seven Super Emeralds and 50 power rings or the Master Emerald. His only game appearance was in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but he has made a couple of appearances in the Archie Comics fighting several enemies like Super Sonic, Robotnik, and Mammoth Mogul. However, it should be noted that in the Archie Comics, Hyper Knuckles is the given name of Knuckles's Chaos Emerald powered Super State.

AppearanceEdit

Like Super Knuckles, Knuckles does not receive any physical transformation, but his fur pulses from red to pink. Unlike his Super State, however, any movement he makes leaves after-images.

Powers and abilitiesEdit

While in Hyper form, Knuckles's natural abilities are multiplied many times over; his already impressive strength, speed and accuracy increase vastly, and he is virtually invulnerable as long as the transformation lasts. Since Hyper Knuckles is an enhanced version of Super Knuckles, all of his physical abilities surpass that of Super Knuckles and he gains additional abilities as well. When gliding into a wall, Hyper Knuckles can perform the "Gliding Shock Wave Attack" which cause an earthquake that destroys all enemies on the screen, and he can breathe underwater as well. In the comics, Knuckles's natural bond with the Chaos Force is also more open to him while in this state, granting him abilities he would not otherwise be able to control.

Like most other super transformations, caused by the Chaos Emeralds/Super Emeralds, once he runs out of rings, he returns to his normal form.

Archie ComicsEdit

In the Archie Comics, Knuckles has a transformation called Hyper Knuckles. However, this transformation can actually be classified as a Super form, which is caused by a super transformation, rather than a Hyper form and is merely a name Knuckles has given it.
