The Hyudoros are characters that appear in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They are a breed of ghost inhabiting the Lost Pyramid of Sandopolis. Serving the pyramid's curse, they attack any intruders under the veil of darkness.
Appearance[]
The Hyudoros change their forms according to the level of darkness in the environment. When the light is just dimming, they appear as little more than glowing blobs, but as the darkness intensifies, they evolve into while cloaked specters with four-fingered hands, sharp horns, empty black eyes and large jaws with elongated sharp teeth.
History[]
When Captain Plunder, Filch and the Per'fessor attempted to leave the Lost Pyramid of Sandopolis with much of its treasure, the Hyudoros began materializing as the ancient lighting system failed. Although Filch saw the ghosts, he was ignored by Plunder until the Hyudoros fully materialized in front of them. These leering phantoms chased the pirates out of the pyramid, which sealed shut behind them, with the treasure left inside.[1]
The Hyudoros appeared again to attack Knuckles and the Chaotix Crew when the group entered their pyramid to find Nack. However, the heroes escaped them by entering a lit room.[2]
Personality[]
The Hyudoros are described as the "the wrong sort of ghosts", making it impossible to reason with them.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
The Hyudoros are able to levitate and turn themselves intangible. They can also instill painful coldness in other beings by passing through them. They also gain strength from the darkness around them, enabling them to materialize themselves.[2][1]
Weakness[]
The Hyudoros are unable to exist in places with light, which causes them to fade away out of existence.[2]
